Saint Laurent
Hedi Slimane delivered a strong, charming collection for Saint Laurent. Slimane worked it with savvy diversity with its roots planted firmly on Carnaby Street. The silhouettes snappy, short and shiny. Though most coats were A-line with a “That Girl” perkiness, the fine use of fur indicated a luxe quotient that hasn’t always been apparent from this runway. The dresses were pretty; the skirts crisp and sweaters, running the gamut of cozy from Fair Isle sweet to mink-cardigan indulgent. To sum it up, Saint Laurent's girls are ready for the glitz and glam of the upcoming 2014 holidays
Paul & Joe
Paul & Joe’s show has caught some attention due to the
touches of eye-catching colour present in most outfits. This runway's
colour is without a doubt moss green, which was present in many of Paul &
Joe’s outfits, but they also experimented with bold, bright colours such as
yellow and coral which made the outfits stand out. Prints are present in most
outfits and their collection seems to represent comfort and ease.
Chalayan
Hussein
Chalayan is known for blending fashion and art in his shows and this year’s
show at Paris Fashion Week was no exception. Chalayan presented a collection
with a soft edge to it, dominated by pencil skirts and detailed dresses, where
elegance and femininity meet in a perfect combination. Most outfits contain a
mixture of rich leather and silk, and Chalayan also played with sheer, giving
his collection a sexier look. While black and grey were very present in his
collection, Chalayan also included a variety of colours perfect for Fall and
Winter, which include plum, beige and shades of red.
These are ALL so lovely... very sophisticated!
