Day 1 New York Fashion Week F/W 2013 - BCBG, Kenneth Cole, etc

Leather, layers and prints. BCBG Fall/Winter 2013 is perfect. From the motorcycle jackets to tunics over pants and flowing tops, the collection is feminine, structured and fresh. The collection is versatile and could speak to someone in the city as well as in the suburbs. Each outfit had a touch of bohemia along with modern and structural lines which tie the collection together. (photo courtesy of style.com)

NYC based brand, Candela, brought a soft and delicate collection to fashion week. The collection includes pastel colors, warm knits, and lots of vintage inspiration. I love the mix of lace and beading-there's even a homage to a vintage nightgown. The models wore minimal and natural makeup which made the collection stand out even more. This season, Kenneth Cole has called upon colors such as black, grey and white to display strong lines and details for F/W 2013. Accessories included lots of sunglasses and hats with leather clutches and bags. Both the men's line and women's line mesh well together with many of the women's pieces following the menswear trend. The collection also uses lots of leather which makes me think we're bound to see more leather next Fall in stores! (photo courtesy of style.com)

Celeb favorite, Tadashi Shoji,  started this season's fashion week with many knock out, red carpet worthy gowns. It's hard to pick a favorite. The colors include a rich burgundy, blue, white, black and tan. The attention to detail with velvet and lace is impeccable. The models wore minimal makeup with a strong dark red lip which popped on the runway. I'm sure we'll see a few of these beautiful gowns in the upcoming awards season!
